Cuttack, Mar 9: The bridge near Chhatra Bazar which connects the vegetable market with Malgodown collapsed on Wednesday evening.

As per reports, a portion of the old bridge caved in this evening while expansion work of Taladanda canal was undergoing. It is feared that some people might have been trapped under the debris.

Eyewitnesses said that at least two persons have been rescued from the debris so far. The injured have been rushed to the SCB Medical College and Hospital.

Police and Odisha Fire Service have rushed to the spot and have started a rescue operation.
