Bridegroom, friend arrested for raping girl at bachelor party in Odisha

Baliguda, Feb 7: A bridegroom and his friend were arrested by Kotpad police for allegedly raping a girl at bachelor party near Sunapeti jungle in Koraput district, said police on Sunday. One of the accused has been identified as Osaif Badamajhi while the other accused was his friend. According to police, Osaif, whose marriage was scheduled to be on February 1, decided to have a bachelor party with his four friends including three females at Sunapeti jungle. All of them consumed country-made-liquor in the jungle and two of the female friends returned home from the spot while one accompanied. Taking the advantage of the situation, Osaif and his friend raped the girl under the influence of alcohol. Later, the girl narrated her ordeal before her family members following which they lodged a complaint against Osaif and his friend at Kotpad police station. The police initiated a probe into the matter and arrested them.
