Bride found hanging at in-laws’ house 3 days after marriage

Dhenkanal, Feb 20: Body of a newly-wed woman has found hanging at her in-laws’ house in Bidyabandha village under Sadar police limits in the district today. The deceased has been identified as Jharana Nayak, wife of Madanmohan Nayak of Bidyabndha village. According to the locals, the couple had tied the nuptial knot on February 17. On Saturday morning, Jharana did not open the door on being called several times to attend some rituals. The worried family members along with some locals broke open the door and found her hanging from the ceiling fan. They rescued the body and subsequently informed the police. The Sadar police reached the spot and initiated a probe into the matter after sending the body for the post-mortem. However, Jharana’s family members said she might have taken the extreme step due to mental imbalance.
