
Bhubaneswar, Sept 28: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) is going to be a Mentor Civic Body to leading sanitation and waste management programs in as many as five neighbouring Urban Local Bodies (ULBs).
As per the Union Government’s perspective, the model ULB will work as a mentor civic body under the Swachh Shehar Jodi programme to contribute to fight environmental pollution, especially triggerd by solid wastes.
According to the government’s directives, the BMC authorities are all set to guide the sister ULBs including Kendrapada, Deogarh, Bargarh, Pattamundai, and Joda in disposing of solid wastes and recycling plastic compounds.
In a post on X, the BMC stated that it has signed a memorandum of understanding with the sister ULBs recently to disseminate its expertise on solid waste management and sanitation.
