Bhubaneswar, Feb 23: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) today put construction waste dumped by a shop owner back to the shop in Old Town area. The incident took place during a massive cleaning drive by the civic body in the area after completion of the Shivratri on Friday. As per reports, BMC Commissioner, Prem Chandra Chaudhary saw the construction waste dumped on the road by the shop owner and ordered the civic body officials to put the waste back into the shop again. “We have been urging residents not to block the roads by dumping construction material and waste. This act of putting waste to the shop will definitely deter residents from dumping waste on the road,” said a BMC official.
