Bhubaneswar, Mar 2: Immediate step has been taken by Bhuaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) to go ahead for inviting proposal to undertake bio- mining activities at Bhuasuni.
Just after receiving the green signal from its parent department on revised RFP (request for proposal) Commissioner Prem Chandra Choudharay has stressed on finalising the preparatory activities to go for selection of competent operating agency.

The Operator is expected to install plant and machinery of required capacity for bio-mining of the existing legacy solid waste and subsequently reclaim the land as per MSW(management of solid waste) Rules 2016, CPCB(Central Pollution control Board) 2019 guidelines and other applicable rules and regulations.
Broadly, the Project involves the reduction of the unprocessed legacy mixed waste, but is not limited to excavating compacted mixed solid waste which underwent biological degradation, by using suitable Mechanical Sieving Machine or any other equipment and taking all the materials excavated, in the assigned land areas and retrieving, recoverable materials and segregating, sorting, selling, storing, diverting for recycling the excavated materials; told Suvendu Kumar Sahoo, Deputy Commissioner, Sanitation .
As shared by the Deputy Commissioner, it is expected to do the processing of 2000 metric ton on daily basis and a total estimated budget for the purpose is approximately Rs.100 core.
