BMC closes 12 fast food shops for defying Covid norms

Bhubaneswar, July 9: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) today closed as many as 12 fast food shops in the state capital for violation of Covid norms. The enforcement team also collected a penalty of Rs 24,000 from these shops. Officials said that these shops have been selling items during the evening hours. Officials said that the drive will continue in the city. Earlier today, a joint team of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) and the Commissionerate Police have sealed a snacks shop for alleged violation of Covid-19 norms. “We urge the shop owners to abide by the Covid-19 norms or else stringent action will be initiated against them,” said an official.
