Bhubaneswar: A large number of BJP activists led by party Bhubaneswar (Central) Assembly constituency nominee Jagannath Pradhan today staged demonstration in front of the office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) accusing it of working as a BJD agent.
The BJP workers hit the streets after CEO Surendra Kumar rejected a petition filed by Pradhan against BJD nominee for the protesting the Bhubaneswar (Central) Assembly constituency nominee Anant Narayan Jena.
The BJP had alleged that Jena was holding office of profit as he was officiating as the chairman of Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA).
The BJP nominee filed a petition before the CEO demanding rejection of Jena’s nomination papers. Jena on the other hand refuted the allegations and said his resignation was accepted on April 4.
