Bhubaneswar: A delegation of BJP leaders led by party vice president Sameer Mohanty today met the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) here demanding action against BJD leader and Minister Sushant Singh and Bijay Ranjan Singh Bariha in Bargarh.
The saffron party alleged that both the leaders are bribing, threatening and kidnapping the BJP’s Zilla Parishad members to join the BJD.
Mohanty alleged that the ZP members were bribed and threatened to resign. BJD leader and Labour Minister Sushant Singh and Bariha are behind such undemocratic acts.
“Hence, we urged the CEO to take appropriate legal action against Minister Singh and also Bariha without any delay,” said Mohanty. The delegation also submitted a memorandum to the CEO to this effect.
Notably, BJP had won 25 out of 34 ZP seats in western Odisha district during rural polls in 2017.
