Bhubaneswar: BJP State executive member Bhuban Mohan Jena today deposed before the Special Taskforce (STF) in connection with his alleged links with gangster Usman Ali alias Tito.
Jena arrived at the Crime Branch office here along with his lawyer and was reportedly interrogated for over an hour by the STF sleuths.
However, Jena and his lawyer alleged that this move was politically motivated ahead of elections.
Sources said Jena was questioned for his involvement in the allotment of a petrol pump in the name of Sayeed Brothers Filing Station in Kendrapara and ad hoc dealership of Company Owned Company Operated Retail Outlet (COCO) in Paradip to the relatives of gangster Tito.
Tito, wanted in several cases including loot, tender fixing, kidnapping, extortion and murder, was nabbed on June 30 last year in a police encounter while he was hatching a murder plot. He was allegedly heading a crime syndicate.
