Bhubaneswar, May 14: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Thursday chaired a preparatory meeting at Lok Seva Bhavan regarding the BJP-led Odisha government’s upcoming second anniversary celebrations.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister instructed officials to keep the celebrations simple and low-key in light of the ongoing crisis in West Asia.
Rather than hosting grand events, he stressed the importance of highlighting the government’s achievements over the past two years and ensuring that welfare initiatives reach every citizen across the state.
The state government’s second anniversary will be observed on June 12, with programmes scheduled at both state and district levels from June 12 to June 21. The celebrations will revolve around seven themes showcasing the accomplishments of various departments — Shakti Odisha, Samruddha Krushi Odisha, Sustha Odisha, Nirmana Odisha, Utkarsha Odisha, Jana Shakti Odisha and Kaushala Odisha. The programmes will also feature the government’s development vision and roadmap for the period between 2026 and 2036.
The Chief Minister directed departments to widely publicise government achievements through print, electronic and social media, along with leaflets and informational booklets. He also emphasised the need to showcase how welfare schemes are benefiting ordinary people.
Majhi further asked departmental ministers to conduct press conferences detailing the achievements of their respective departments during the last two years and to publish departmental progress reports and booklets.
According to him, the initiative will help communicate the government’s development agenda and welfare measures directly to the public.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida, Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari, Works and Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan, Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Minister Rabi Narayan Naik, Chief Minister’s Advisor Prakash Mishra, Chief Secretary Anu Garg, and senior officials from various departments.
