Bhubaneswar: The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) today moved Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Surendra Kumar alleging that BJP’s candidate for Saraskana Assembly constituency is a Government employee thereby violating the model code of conduct.
The party alleged that Dr Budhan Murmu, who is serving at the Rangamatia Primary Health Centre, has been fielded by the BJP as its candidate for the Saraskana Assembly segment.
A delegation of the regional party met the CEO and submitted a memorandum demanding immediate legal action in this connection. The party wondered that how a Government doctor was fielded as a party candidate in the elections though is a serious offence.
The party alleged that Murmu is actively participating in the campaigning in the area violating the poll code.
