BJP, Congress observes 12-hour Sambalpur bandh

Sambalpur, Nov 3: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress today observed 12-hour bandh in Sambalpur protesting attack on Congress worker during CM Naveen’s visit to the area yesterday. The opposition parties held demonstrations against Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday during his visit to Sambalpur for his silence in the Kalahandi woman teacher's kidnap and murder case and ruling BJD activists allegedly attacked and seriously injured a Youth Congress leader. Moreover, the opposition parties' workers waved black flags at Patnaik demanding answers from the government for delaying action against minister D S Mishra for his alleged links with the prime accused in the case. The opposition BJP and Congress have claimed that their activists were attacked by BJD workers in the presence of the police.
