Bhubaneswar, Sept 29: The ruling BJD and Opposition BJP are all set for a show of strength on September 29 here in the city. BJP national president JP Nadda will visit Odisha and address party workers at Janata Maidan on Thursday. The BJP workers have geared up for 2024 after the training camp in Puri and the party has expected a gathering of over 30,000 workers for Nadda's meeting. State BJP president Samir Mohanty said, "Our party workers are working at the grassroots level for 2024 and Nadda's address will boost their energy forward". "If any other party is holding any program on the same day, it will be a flop show before BJP's massive gathering in the capital city," said Mohanty. A team of state BJP today visited the Janata Maidan to review the preparations. On the other hand, BJD is organizing a meeting of representatives of its frontal organizations from across the state on the same day to be addressed by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. Besides, the BJD is also going to launch its yearly Jana Sampark Yatra (mass contact program ) from October 2 till November end starting from Bhubaneswar. The party has set a target to reach every ward and panchayat during this campaign. The party will make a roadmap for it on November 29. According to party sources, the BJD is planning to reach people, coinciding with the completion of its 25 years. The longest surviving regional party in Odisha was founded on December 26, 1997. Meanwhile, Congress is gearing up to reach out to people after Sarat Pattnayak took over the helm. Pattanayak will hold a meeting at Khordha on September 29 to start Bharat Jodo Yatra in the district.
