New Delhi, Feb 13: A delegation of Biju Janata Dal (BJD) MPs on Saturday met Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi and placed demand that the Centre should withdraw the draft bye-laws issued by National Monuments Authority (NMA) on Ananta Basudev and Brahmeswar temples.
BJD law makers including Pinaki Mishra, Sujeet Kumar and Anubav Mohanty met the union minister.
“As part of the Delegation of @bjd_odisha MPs, met Hon’ble Union Minister @JoshiPralhad Ji seeking withdrawal of NMA Draft Bye-laws relating to Lingaraj Temple in Bhubaneswar, #Odisha . Hon’ble CM @Naveen_Odisha had appealed all MPs from Odisha to take up this matter with GoI,” said MP Kumar.
After the Centre’s notification withdrawl of the draft bylaws of National Monuments Authority (NMA) for Jagannath Temple in Puri, Odisha government has requested the NMA to withdraw the same for Lingaraj and Brahmeswar Temples in Bhubaneswar.
The Commissioner of the Endowment, Odisha and Khurda district Collector, who is also the president of Lord Lingaraj Temple Trust Board, urged the NMA to withdraw the notification immediately.
