Bhubaneswar: After the arrest of Biju Janata Dal (BJD) leader Pradeep Maharathy, the regional party today moved the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) demanding action against senior BJP leader and Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan for allegedly obstructing flying squad from discharging their duties.
A delegation of BJD leaders today met the CEO and raised the issue involving Pradhan who had obstructed flying squad from discharging their duties, threatened and abused them and prevented the officials from checking his helicopter a few days ago.
Notably, a video has gone viral in social media where Pradhan was seen arguing with election officials who tried to check his helicopter.
Notably, Maharathy, BJD candidate from Pipili Assembly constituency, was arrested today for allegedly assaulting polling party officials, including a Magistrate at his farmhouse at Hunkeipur under Pipili police station late on Sunday night. He was accused of obstructing the flying squad from discharging their duties.
