Bhubaneswar, Oct 23: A delegation of the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) will visit Kotia Panchayat on Friday to oppose election-related activities being carried out by Andhra Pradesh in the disputed region. The visit has been approved by BJD president and former Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
During the visit, the delegation will interact with local residents to assess the prevailing situation in Kotia and gather detailed information on the developments in the area.
The team will subsequently submit a comprehensive report to Naveen Patnaik, outlining the ground realities and concerns raised by the residents.
The delegation will include former MP Jhina Hikaka, Manohar Randhari, Jagannath Saraka, Ravi Narayan Nanda, Pradeep Majhi and Ramesh Majhi, among others.
The visit comes amid concerns over Andhra Pradesh’s election-related activities in Kotia, a region at the centre of a long-standing boundary dispute between Odisha and Andhra Pradesh.
