According to reports, the samiti member, identified as Jayanti Mallick had gone to the block office on March 1, when BJD leader Santosh Khatua and Suresh Das, a former teacher allegedly misbehaved with her.
Later, Jayanti lodged a complaint against Santosh and Suresh at Nilagiri police station. However, police remained silent on the matter for days.
