Angul, April 7: Normal life in Angul was affected as the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) observed a 12-hour bandh protesting closure of Talcher Thermal Power Station (TTPS). Several labour unions have extended their support to the 6 am to 6 pm bandh. While shops and business establishments downed their shutters due to the bandh, most of the vehicles remained off the roads. Bus services were also hit due to the protest. Notably, a local outfit Talcher Kriyanusthan Committee had observed a four-hour economic blockade yesterday protesting the shutdown of TTPS.
