Youth leader Biswaranjan Mallick quits BJP

Bari, Oct 20: BJP youth leader and state executive member of the party Biswaranjan Mallick today resigned from primary membership of the party. Sources said that Mallick is likely to join BJD soon. Mallick had joined BJP in 2017 after quitting the Congress. He had contested the 2019 elections from Bari on BJP ticket but lost to BJD candidate Sunanda Das by a narrow margin of 4062 votes. Besides Mallik, Bari block president Subasini Sarma, vice-president Ramesh Chandra Bhanja and zilla parishad member Ranjita Samal have resigned from BJP. In their resignation letters to the state BJP president, they have stated that since they were unable to carry out the party responsibilities assigned to them, they were withdrawing their membership from the party.
