Biswa Bhushan sworn in as Governor of Andhra Pradesh

Amaravati: Veteran BJP leader Biswa Bhushan Harichandan was sworn in as the new Governor of Andhra Pradesh today.
The 84-year-old Harichandan was administered the oath of office by Andhra Pradesh High Court’s Acting Chief Justice Praveen Kumar at a function held at the Raj Bhavan here.
Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, several cabinet Ministers, MLAs and senior officers were present at the function.
Hailing from Odisha, Harichandan replaced ESL Narasimhan, who was the Governor of Andhra Pradesh for the last one decade.
Born on August 3, 1934 Harichandan was elected as MLA for five times. He won as MLA from Chilika constituency for two times and from Bhubaneswar three times.
He was a Minister in the BJD-BJP Government, led by Naveen Patnaik, from 2000 to 2009. He was also a Minister in the Nilamani Routray Government from 1977-79.
