Bhubaneswar:Youth known to girl through online dating app allegedly abducted, girl accuses him of rape

Bhubaneswar, Jan 10: A 26 year old youth was allegedly kidnapped by a 25 year old girl working as a private college teacher in the state capital after both of them befriended each other through an online dating app. The girl however, denied the allegations and accused the youth of raping her. The youth identified as Sunil Prasad Mishra, a native of Kandhamal alleged that he came in contact with the girl through the inline dating app four days ago. “She met me and we dated for two days. On Wednesday evening she called me and asked me to take her to a hospital. I was taking her to the hospital when four other men intercepted my motorcycle and forcefully took me to a house in Chandrasekharpur area. They confined me there and took my ATM card and withdrew cash worth Rs 20000. They also called my father and demanded ransom of Rs 5 lakh. However they later freed me apprehending police complaint by my father,” alleged Mishra. Mishra today lodged a police compliant with the Chandrasekharpur police station and subsequaently police have taken custody of the girl and four others for interrogation. On the other hand the girl claimed before the police that she was raped by the Mishra. “The girl also claimed that Mishra had captured her video and photographs and was blackmailing her. We are interrogating both the girl and Mishra to verify the allegations and counter allegations,’ said a police official.
