Bhubaneswar taxi driver murder case: Molestation of woman reason behind crime

Koraput, Feb 10: Police today cracked the case of murder of a car driver from Bhubaneswar in Boriguma area of Koraput district and arrested two persons including a woman. The deceased identified as Sudhir Sahoo of Jagamara village under Khandagiri police limits in Bhubaneswar was found dead near Chhatarla village on Borigumma-Korpaut road on January 27. Police said that the accused claiming as couple had had hired Sahoo’s taxi to go to Koraput and later killed him and took away the car. Police said that the accused were nabbed from a hotel in Rourkela. Police said that the accused killed Sahoo after he molested the woman in an inebriated condition. “Both Sahoo and the male companion of the woman consumed liquor and took rest after Sahoo could not drive the vehicle. However, Sahoo later molested the woman inside the car following which the accused assaulted Sahoo leaving him dead. They dumped the body and took away the car,” said a police official. Police further said that the accused later escaped to Uttar Pradesh and subsequently Bihar before returning to Rourkela. Police have also seized the vehicle.
