Jeypore, Jan 28: A taxi driver from Bhubaneswar was found dead in mysterious circumstances near Chhatarla village on Borigumma-Korpaut road on Wednesday.
The deceased has been identified as Sudhir Sahoo of Jagamara village under Khandagiri police limits in Bhubaneswar.
Though the exact reason behind his death is yet to be known, it is being suspected that Sahoo was killed after loot.
According to reports, two persons had hired Sahoo’s taxi to go to Koraput on Monday and reached the town on the following day.
However, his(Sahoo) mobile phone was switched off after he left for Koraput.
Finding no other way, Sahho’s family member filed a written complaint at Khandagiri police station, basing on which the police launched a probe.
Later, the police tracked the location of the car and found it to be in Borigumma area in Koraput district.
On Wednesday morning, some local residents found Sahoo lying along the road and alerted the local police. Later Sahoo’s brother, who lives in Rayagada reached Borigumma and identified him.
A case has been registered at Boriguma police station and police launched a probe into the matter.
