Bhubaneswar, May 24: Bhubaneswar Ring Road Project is set to take off soon, said Prithwiraj Harichandan, Minister for Works Department, Odisha on Saturday.
While reviewing the Ring Road project that’s in the pipeline, Harichandan said that the deemed work will be began during this month. Land acquisition for it is in the final stage after which the project will be initiated from the Nandankanan-Jaydev Vihar road, in order to address the vehicular congestion, the street witnesses.
Underlining the significance of a ring road in the smart city the Minister said, the proposed Ring Road is a key development Project in the smart city aimed at easing urban traffic congestion in the state capital. The project, considered vital for improving connectivity and reducing traffic bottlenecks.
Physical construction work on the ring road will begin soon. The project is expected to be a game-changer for Bhubaneswar’s growing traffic challenges, Harichandan added.
Speaking about the timeline of completion of the Ring Road Harichandan said, by December 2025 both of the project carriageways will be completed. Following this, the road project will run in a full swing starting from the Nandankanan-Jaydev Vihar part.
