Bhubaneswar, Ap 18: Bhubaneswar police have successfully busted a gang that was using the gay dating app Grindr to lure and rob individuals. The gang would invite victims to isolated locations under the pretense of meeting them and then carry out thefts. Those who resisted were reportedly beaten. Stolen items included cash, gold jewelry, and other valuables.

In one case last March, a young man was lured to a dilapidated house in the Keshura area and robbed. Following complaints, the police arrested two gang members, including a woman, while a minor involved in the crimes was sent to a juvenile home.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Manorama Jena and Preeti Gaya. Police recovered ₹14,000 from the gang.

Several other gang members remain at large. Bhubaneswar police have launched raids across multiple locations to apprehend the remaining suspects.
