Bhubaneswar, Oct 9: Bhubaneswar-based designer Reemly Mohanty is poised to make a significant impact at the India Fashion Week in London on November 16, 2024. As the sole designer representing Odisha, she will unveil her collection titled "NILA-A Azure Charm," which fuses traditional handloom craftsmanship with contemporary design. This year’s event centers on sustainability, and Reemly’s collection exemplifies this theme.
"NILA" draws inspiration from the color blue, which holds deep cultural and mythological significance in Hinduism. Reemly explains that blue symbolizes the limitless sky, the vast ocean, and the divine power of deities such as Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva. Her innovative blend of traditional and modern styles aims to reflect the richness of Odisha's heritage on an international platform.
The esteemed India Fashion Week will feature renowned designers from across India, providing a global stage for Reemly’s work and celebrating both the cultural artistry of Odisha and the principles of sustainable fashion.
