Bhubaneswar: INWEC Business Mela 2.0 inaugurated with strong participation from women entrepreneurs

Bhubaneswar, May 2: The second edition of the INWEC National Women’s Business Mela 2.0 commenced with a vibrant start on April 30 at the IDCO Exhibition Ground in Unit 3, Bhubaneswar.

The event witnessed a remarkable turnout of aspiring and established women entrepreneurs, all eager to carve their own identity and leave a lasting legacy in the world of business.

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi inaugurated the five-day mela, which is being organised by the Indian National Women Entrepreneurs Council (INWEC) in association with the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and MSME DFO Cuttack. 

With over 200 women entrepreneurs from across India participating, the mela promises to be a significant platform for innovation, networking, and empowerment.

INWEC Convenor Preeti Pallavi Patnaik, along with Co-Convenors Swati Kejriwal and Suma Devi Dash, welcomed the attendees and dignitaries to the grand event. The inaugural ceremony was graced by several prominent personalities including Bollywood actor Zayed Khan; Cuttack Barabati MLA Sofia Firdous; Dr. Maya Gantayat, MD and Co-Founder of Ashwini Group of Hospitals; Usha Padhee, IAS, Principal Secretary of Housing and Urban Development and Department of Commerce and Transport, Government of Odisha; renowned Odissi dancer and Padma Shri awardee Aruna Mohanty; and Ratnamala Swain, Director of DN Group.

The business mela showcases a wide range of enterprises led by women, ranging from handwoven textiles and organic products to tech start-ups and wellness ventures. 

The diversity of participation highlights the growing presence of women in various sectors and their drive to contribute meaningfully to the economy.

In addition to the exhibition, the event features panel discussions on key themes such as digital transformation, sustainable business practices, and inclusive policy frameworks. 

These sessions aim to provide insights and tools for women entrepreneurs to scale their ventures effectively.

As INWEC 2.0 continues over the coming days, it is expected to serve as a dynamic hub for collaboration, idea exchange, and the celebration of women’s entrepreneurial spirit.
