Mumbai, Ap 6: The much-awaited trailer of Bhooth Bangla, starring Akshay Kumar, was unveiled on Monday, offering a glimpse into a fun-filled horror-comedy crafted in the signature style of Priyadarshan.
Also featuring Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav and late actor Asrani in key roles, the film is slated for a theatrical release on April 16.
The three-minute-three-second trailer begins with the introduction of a powerful demon, Vadhusur, said to have grown stronger over the last 1,000 years. It then shifts focus to Akshay Kumar’s character, who is keen on selling a lavish bungalow unaware, or perhaps unconcerned, about its haunted past linked to the demon.
As the story unfolds, residents of the house begin to experience eerie paranormal activities. Paresh Rawal’s character is seen warning Akshay about the dangers lurking within the property. The trailer highlights engaging interactions between the lead cast, blending horror with slapstick humour reminiscent of classics like Bhool Bhulaiyaa and Phir Hera Pheri.
The trailer concludes with a dramatic face-off between Akshay Kumar and the demon Vadhusur, hinting at a mix of action, comedy and supernatural thrills.
Apart from the veteran comic ensemble, the film also stars Tabu, Wamiqa Gabbi and Mithila Palkar in prominent roles. Tabu’s presence, in particular, appears to add a layer of intrigue and depth to the narrative.
The trailer was shared by Balaji Motion Pictures on its official Instagram handle, teasing audiences with the caption: “Welcome to Bhooth Bangla. Yahan na toh log normal hain... Aur upar se Bangla bhi paranormal hai. Enter at your own risk.”
Presented by Balaji Motion Pictures, a division of Balaji Telefilms Ltd, in association with Cape of Good Films, the film is produced by Akshay Kumar, Shobha Kapoor and Ektaa R Kapoor.
