BHEL hands over 109 crore dividend cheque to Centre

Delhi, December 15: The Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) on Monday handed over a dividend cheque of Rs 109.98 crore to Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Steel, H.D. Kumaraswamy here.

The Dividend Distribution Ceremony was also attended by the Secretary, Ministry of Heavy Industries, Joint Secretary (Ministry of Heavy Industries), CMD & Functional Directors of BHEL.

During the ceremony, a dividend cheque of Rs. 109.98 crore was handed over to the Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Steel. The dividend payout for the financial year 2024-25 is a 100% increase over the payout for the year 2023-24.

The Union Minister exhorted BHEL to play a pivotal role in the making of Viksit Bharat through major Government of India initiatives. As a leading heavy engineering and manufacturing company, he also advised BHEL to advance the vision of ‘Aatma Nirbhar Bharat’ and ‘Make in India’.

The BHEL is engaged in the design, engineering, manufacturing, construction, erection, commissioning and servicing of a wide range of products, systems, and services in various areas including power generation (thermal, hydro, gas, nuclear, and solar PV), transmission, transportation, defense, aerospace, oil and gas, and emerging sectors like battery energy storage systems and electric vehicle chargers.

Furthermore, BHEL plays a crucial role in the strategic sectors of the nation, especially through its engagement in all three stages of India’s nuclear power programme and as a supplier of critical equipment and services for defence and aerospace sectors for over three decades, including as a trusted supplier of Super Rapid Gun Mount (SRGM) naval guns - the Front-Line Weapon for Indian Navy.
