Bhadrak, Jan 13: A woman named Pushpalata Pradhan has staged dharna before her in-law's house in Bhadrak demanding marital rights on Thursday. The incident came to the fore at Barapada village under the Bhadrak Rural Police limit, when Pushpalata along with her 3-year boy initiated a protest against Bikash Chandra Sahu, who had married after developing a love affair with her. Sources said Bikash had married Puspalata against the will of his parents. It’s why Bikash had assured her to bring her to his home after his parents approved their relationship. However, Bikash did not keep his words. As a result, Pushpalata moved police station to get her marital status. Bikash had agreed before the police to take Pushpalata within one and half month. However, he never turned up to receive his wife in time. Aggrieved over it, Pushpalata, with her 3-year kid in the lap protested before Bikash’s house in the morning, since she was not allowed to home by her in-laws.
