Berhampur, Aug 25: In a major crackdown on illegal gambling, Badabazar Police in Berhampur arrested seven persons during a raid on a gambling den in Kalupatra Sahi under the Badabazar police limits in Ganjam district.

Acting on a tip-off, police raided the gambling den and caught the accused allegedly gambling at the spot.

During the operation, police seized ₹3,94,150 in cash, along with four motorcycles and seven mobile phones from the premises.

The arrested persons were taken to the police station for questioning.

Police have registered a case and launched a further investigation into the matter.

The authorities said strict action would be taken against those involved in illegal gambling activities and that similar raids would continue across the city.
