Jajpur, June 22: Dharmashala police on Tuesday rescued a Bangladeshi woman from a prostitution racket at Dharmashala in Jajpur district today. The police also arrested a person for allegedly forcing the woman into the flesh trade.
According to reports, the accused, identified as Ajay Das had sold off the woman to a hotel owner in Kolkata. However, Ajay’s son and the Bangladeshi woman developed a love relationship and fled to Bangalore.
Later, they returned to Odisha and were staying at a rented house. However, Ajay allegedly threatened them after they returned to Dharmashala. Finding no other way, the duo narrated their ordeal to the house owner, who then alerted the police.
Later, the police reached the house, rescued the woman and sent the woman to a shelter home.
