Bangladesh Air Force Jet Crashes into Dhaka School
A Bangladesh Air Force training aircraft crashed into the campus of a school in Dhaka on Monday afternoon, killing at least one person and injuring several others (as per report more than 100 person were injured). The incident occurred in the capital's northern Uttara area, a densely populated locality.
The aircraft, identified as a Chinese-made F-7 BGI fighter jet, went down at approximately 1:06 PM. It crashed onto the premises of Milestone School and College, where students were reportedly present at the time. Emergency services rushed to the scene as thick smoke and flames billowed from the wreckage.
Fire service official Lima Khan confirmed that at least one person had died and four others were injured in the incident. The identities of the casualties have not yet been released. The Bangladesh Army’s public relations office confirmed the aircraft belonged to the Air Force but has not provided further details.
Rescue operations are ongoing as firefighting teams work to control the blaze and search for any other potential casualties. The condition and whereabouts of the pilot remain unknown, as authorities have yet to release an official statement on the matter.
