Baliguda, May 20: In a shocking incident, a woman was allegedly abducted and gang-raped by three men for seven days. The accused have been arrested and forwarded to court, police said on Monday.

According to reports, the incident occurred on May 11 at Baliguda in Kandhamal district when a woman had visited the Baliguda market to buy medicine. On her way back, three men, including an auto-rickshaw driver, offered to drop her at home. Instead, they took her to a rented house, locked her inside a room, and kept her confined there for six days, during which she was repeatedly gangraped by the three accused.
The crime came to light the survivor managed to escape the spot to file a written complaint at Baliguda police station on May 17. Within 24 hours, police arrested all three accused: Ugrasen Nayak, Biju Nayak, and Satyabrata Nayak. The police also recorded the victim’s statement and conducted a medical examination.
The accused were later produced in court and sent to judicial custody. The auto-rickshaw used in the abduction has also been seized as part of the investigation.
