Cuttack, Nov 11: Today marks the last Monday of the Kartik month, and a large number of devotees have gathered at Baba Dhabaleswar shrine to witness his 'Ashutosh Besha'.
It is a widely held belief that visiting Lord Shiva on this day brings immense spiritual merit, offering devotees the promise of mental peace and the blessings of millions of past lives. The devotees were seen offering milk, water, flower, fruits, and ‘bel’ leaves to Lord Dhabaleswar on the auspicious occasion.
The doors of the temple were opened at around 3am, and a ceremonial bath was observed using 108 pots of holy water, along with the performance of traditional rituals such as the Maillam and Mangal Aarti.
The devotees were seen in a long queue to take a glimpse of the lord. The administration had made elaborate arrangements to ensure hassle-free conduct of rituals for devotees. Moreover, security has been beefed up at the temple as the rush of devotees is expected to increase.
