Bhubaneswar, Oct 28: The beneficiaries of Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) will get their cards by the end of March 2025, Odisha Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling said on Monday.
“We will integrate state government’s Gopabandhu Jan Arogya Yojana (G-JAY) with Ayushman Yojana and issue one card for the both schemes by end of March 2025,” said Mahaling.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch phase - II of the AB-PMJAY tomorrow (October 29) that will include health coverage for all citizens aged 70 years and above irrespective of their income status. Odisha government will prepare modalities for the scheme soon. Odisha will be included under the scheme tomorrow,” he added.
The AB-PMJAY will benefit an estimated six crore citizens in about 4.5 crore households across the country.
Be it poor, middle class, upper middle class or rich, every individual who is 70 years and above is eligible for getting Ayushman card to avail free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh at any of the AB PMJAY empanelled hospitals once the expanded scheme gets launched, the Minister said.
