Bhubaneswar, June 2: Ollywood superstar Anubhav Mohanty is gearing up to entertain audiences this Raja festival with a double dose of excitement. His much-awaited film ‘Chhaki Suna’ is slated for release on June 12, while the film’s newly released studio version song ‘Ame Balunga Toka’ is already creating a buzz on social media.
The song, sung by Anubhav Mohanty along with actor-comedian Papu Pom Pom, has struck a chord with fans and is rapidly gaining popularity online. Within hours of its release, the track garnered lakhs of views, reflecting the growing craze among music lovers ahead of Raja celebrations.
Sharing the song, the makers described it as the “most awaited song of the year” and expressed confidence that Anubhav’s rendition would win hearts across audiences. The lyrics have been penned by Pramod Parida, while music has been composed by Baidyanath Dash.
The song is a revamped version of the iconic title track from the 2011 blockbuster ‘Balunga Toka’, which continues to enjoy popularity among Odia audiences. The original track was written by Dr. Nirmal Nayak, composed by the late music director Abhijit Majumdar and sung by Bollywood playback singer Vinod Rathod.
Speaking about the project, Anubhav Mohanty said the film’s music has been dedicated to the memories of late music director Abhijit Majumdar and singer Human Sagar. Describing himself as “not a singer,” Anubhav said his rendition of *Balunga Toka 2.0* was a heartfelt tribute and an expression of gratitude towards the two artistes. He also acknowledged the support of the film’s creative team and sought the blessings and encouragement of audiences.
According to media planner Pranaya Jethi, ‘Chhaki Suna’ has been produced by Our Studio and 29 To Nine Films in association with SM Entertainment Presents. The film has been written and directed by Manas Padhiyari.
The production team includes Naveen Bhandari, Jagruti, Anubhav Mohanty, Shubham Mohanty and Suraj Mohant. Deepak Kumar has handled cinematography, Rashmiranjan Das has edited the film, Shakti Swarup Dwibedi has worked on sound design, while Kishalaya Roy has composed the background score.
Apart from Anubhav Mohanty, the film features Sambhabana Mohanty, Abhishek Panda, Divya Mohanty, Choudhury Jayaprakash Das, Sukumar Tudu, Sukanta Rath, Nitu Singh, Bijini Mishra, Udit Guru, Tapas Sargharia, Jitu Mangaraj and several other actors in key roles.
With the release of ‘Ame Balunga Toka’ receiving an enthusiastic response, expectations are running high for ‘Chhaki Suna’, which is set to hit theatres during the Raja festival season.
