Antisocial opens fire at police, escapes in Berhampur

Berhampur, Oct 7: An antisocial has evaded police arrest after firing on the police personnel in Berhampur on Thursday. The accused has been identified as Kuna, who is the most wanted for Berhampur police who has a long criminal background. According to the Digapahandi police, intelligence revealed that hardened criminal Kuna was hidding inside a forest near Chadheyaghar village. Acting on the tip-off, a special team of police conducted a combing operation in the forest. Meanwhile, Kuna opened fire at the police and fled away from the spot. Subsequently, police reached Kuna’s secret den and seized a huge cache of weapons and firearms. Kuna is involved in a number of NDPS, rioting, and poaching cases. Police are in his frantic search as more than 25 cases have been lodged against him, said Berhampur SP Pinak Mishra.
