The observance began with Anti-Ragging Day on August 12 which was marked by pledge-taking ceremonies, sensitization meetings and awareness campaigns led by institutional anti-ragging committees and hostel superintendents.

During the week, students across all institutions enthusiastically participated in various competitions including Poster Making, Slogan Writing, staging of ‘Nukkad Natak’, Debate, Quiz, Essay and Rangoli. The themes highlighted the values of respect, dignity and inclusiveness in campus life.

The best two participants in the compulsory events from each institution were nominated for the university-level competitions which were held on August 16. These events showcased outstanding creativity, powerful messaging and strong commitment by the students towards ensuring a ragging-free environment.

A prize distribution and felicitation ceremony was held on August 18 in the presence of the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Pradipta Kumar Nanda, Dean (Students’ Welfare) Prof. Jyoti Ranjan Das, Deans, Directors, faculty members and students.

The Vice-Chancellor praised the initiative and reiterated the university’s zero-tolerance policy towards ragging while stressing the importance of nurturing mutual trust and respect among students. The Dean (Students’ Welfare) and faculty members were also appreciated for their continuous guidance and objective evaluation of the events.

Speaking on the occasion, the Faculty Coordinator Dr. Anshuman Jena highlighted the collective efforts of the university community in building awareness and promoting unity. He noted that all participating students were felicitated as winners from their respective institutions making the ceremony a celebration of shared responsibility rather than competition alone.

The celebrations concluded with a collective message which read-- “Ragging divides, respect unites. Together, we pledge to uphold respect, dignity and friendship in every corner of SOA University.”
