Another tehsildar attacked in Odisha during enforcement of Covid norms

Gajapati, May 7: Tehsildar of R Udayagiri was today attacked by locals following raids at several marriage feasts organised at Cheligada village flouting Covid-19 norms. Seriously injured Tehsildar has been admitted to hospital. As per reports, the tehsildar Smurti Ranjan Satpathy conducted a surprise raid at the village after getting information of large gathering of people defying the Covid norms. Though he was accompanied by the local police, locals got infuriated and assaulted the tehsildar. A police SI was also injured in the incident. The incident came a day after a woman tehsildar was allegedly attacked by some villagers at Hinjili in Balasore district while trying to enforce Covid-19 norms. The tehsildar of Balasore Sadar, Anamika Singh was attacked with her colleagues while while trying to enforce Covid norms at 11th day rituals of a deceased.
