Sambalpur, Jan 7: The annual bird counting process has started in Hirakud Dam Reservoir on Friday. The process began at 5 AM and will continue till 5 PM today, informed a forest official.
According to the sources, 38 teams consisting of forest officials from Sambalpur, Baragarh and Jharsuguda divisions have been engaged in the counting of both the domestic and migratory birds at the Hirakud reservoir area.
This year’s bird census will also include the area of Sukhasoda on the Odisha-Chhattisgarh border. The report of the census will come on January 9.
