Anna Hazare Hospitalised in Mumbai After Health Deteriorates

Mumbai, August 31: Social activist Anna Hazare has been hospitalised at Mumbai’s Bombay Hospital after his health condition deteriorated. He is reportedly undergoing treatment for a kidney infection.

Hazare was initially admitted to Vedant Hospital in Shirur last week after experiencing urinary problems. His condition improved following nearly three days of treatment.

However, his creatinine levels rose during the course of treatment, prompting doctors to shift him to Mumbai for further medical care, reports said.

Hazare is widely known for his campaigns on anti-corruption and social reform. He rose to national prominence during the 2011 anti-corruption movement, when he undertook a hunger strike demanding the enactment of a strong Lokpal law.

Further details about his health condition and treatment are awaited.
