ANM TC Puri undertakes plethora of celebration as a flowery tribute to Lady with the Lamp

Puri, May 16: ANM Training Centre (ANM TC), Puri has undertaken a plethora of celebrations as a flowery tribute to the ‘Lady with the Lamp’, Florence Nightingale in its campus and at the auditorium of Gopabandhu Ayurvedic Medical College and Hospital. Amid week-long programmes, the institute observed the World Nursing Day to upkeep the essence of ‘Service to Mankind is service to God’, enunciated by the Western Saint, Florence Nightingale on her 202nd birth anniversary. In view of handing down the values of service among the future generations, various district level competitions based on health services were organised among the school students including Class-II to Class-VIII. Apart from it, a number of sports events, vocal, dance, quiz along with literary competitions were held in a week-long schedule to mark the occasion. On the World Nursing Day, Veteran Nursing Sister Salila Panda and Chief Nursing Officer of Puri DHH, Sarojini Mohapatra joined as the guests and solemnized the pledge to the new entrant sisters. {"id":184468,"sizeSlug":"full","linkDestination":"none"} Similarly, The ANM TC celebrated its annual function at the Gopabandhu Ayurvedic Medical College and Hospital which was jointly hosted by the ANM trainees and the Certificate Programme in Community Health (CPCH) Educators. Director of Nursing, Dr Sanjukta Sahu and Chief District Medical Officer & Public Health Officer, Puri, Dr Sujata Mishra and Koushik Mishra joined as the Chief Guest, guest of honour and chief speaker respectively in it. Among others, Dr Sudarshan Behera and Kamala Panda joined as special guests and marked the occasion. Principal Nayana Kumari Samal lent the introductory address in the occasion while the SNA Advisor, Swarnalata Panigrahi outlined the noble job of nursing as a benevolent sister of the human society. CMO & PHO, Dr Sujata Mishra during her official address applauded the strategic measures of the ANM TC in contributing skilled and compassionate Sisters and assured a dedicated captive building for the grooming institution as soon as possible. In the valedictory session, the students and the health care professionals of the organisation staged colorful cultural programmes with a flowery homage to the icon of service, Florence Nightingale.
