Puri, September 24: SAMPARK, a voluntary organistation, organised an awareness camp in Samantarapur village under Bania Sahi Panchayat in Puri district, focusing on the use of traditional veterinary practices in animal husbandry on the occasion of the 10th National Ayurveda Day on Tuesday.
The event was coordinated by organistation general secretary Saumendra Das.
Veterinary Officer Dr. Kamalesh Pradhan explained to local livestock farmers how commonly available herbs like Tulsi (Holy Basil), Neem, Drumstick, Ashwagandha, Shatavari, and Triphala can be effectively used in animal treatment. His session was simple, practical, and easy to understand.
Livestock Inspector Madhusmita Pradhan, Maitree Abhilipsa Jaisingh, Mohan Baral, Gangadhar Baral, and Mission Shakti CRP Reena Baral also extended their support in conducting the camp.
This year’s Ayurveda Day is being celebrated with the theme "Ayurveda for One Health: Ayurveda for People, Ayurveda for the Planet", focusing on overall health, environmental balance, and sustainable development.
The Ministry of AYUSH was formed in 2014, and since 2016, Ayurveda Day has been celebrated annually on Dhanteras. However, due to the varying dates of Dhanteras each year, it was decided to observe Ayurveda Day on September 23, a day when day and night are nearly equal, symbolising balance.
