Angry Jasoda tramples man to death

Angul: Jasoda, a Kunki (trained) elephant of Chandaka forest who was used in tranquilizing tigress Sundari, trampled a man to death inside Purunakote range office premises, informed PCCF Sandeep Tripathy. The mishap occurred when the Sudhir Pradhan had gone to feed the elephant, sources said. Notably, Jasoda was rushed to Satkosia to help in tranquilizing elusive Royal Bengal tigress Sundari. And successfully after two weeks of chase Sundari was tranquilized. Forest officials managed to tranquilize Sundari, the tigress brought from Madhya Pradesh as part of tiger re-introduction programme in the reserve.
