Andhra's double standards: Odia signages destroyed in Kotia villages at the time of Naveen-Jagan meet in Bhubaneswar

Koraput, Nov 11: Andhra Pradesh officials destroyed Odia signages in Kotia group of villages while Naveen-Jagan discussion was underway in Bhubaneswar. Sources said Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YSR Jagan Mohan Reddy visited Odisha on November 9. During the official visit, Reddy discussed various bilateral issues with his Odisha counterpart Naveen Patnaik. The two leaders had a discussion on the Polavaram project and Kotia border issues in order to be sorted out through amicable settlements. At the same time, a dozen of Andhra officials illegally infiltrated into the Odisha territory and destroyed Odia signages which were put up in and around the 21 Kotia villages. Besides, the officials took up a slew of developmental programmes in Fatusinery and Fagunasinery village. Especially, the Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA) authorities of Andhra Pradesh forcefully opened a school in Odisha territory and gave away eggs to students. People of Koraput, local leaders, and ‘Mo Kotia’ social organization have raised their eyebrows regarding the illegal venture of Andhra Pradesh. They have raised] their finger towards the double standard of the Andhra government on the Kotia border dispute.
