New Delhi, Jan 26: Barely two weeks ahead of the first phase of Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, which begins from the western part of the state, Union Home Minister Amit Shah met with Jat leaders from Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday. The meeting was held at the residence of BJP MP Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma in New Delhi. It was attended by Union Minister and Muzaffarnagar strongman Sanjeev Balyan, UP Minister Bhupendra Chaudhary and other senior leaders of the Jat community from UP west. "We have demanded Bharat Ratna for (former PM) Chaudhary Charan Singh, reservation for Jats & proportionate representation in Central &UP governments. The Home Minnister has responded positively," said an attendee after the meeting. On (RLD chief) Jayant Chaudhary, he (HM Amit Shah) said that there are many possibilities after the polls. For now, he has chosen a party. People of Jat community will speak to Jayant. BJP's doors are always open for him, said BJP MP Parvesh Verma after a meeting with Jat leaders.
