Bhubaneswar, Mar 31: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has convened an urgent meeting to address the potential repercussions of the ongoing Middle East conflict on Odisha’s energy sector.
Scheduled for this evening at Lok Seva Bhawan, the meeting will include all district collectors participating via video conferencing. Department heads will also be present to assess the situation in each district, review supply chains, and devise strategies to ensure the uninterrupted availability of essential commodities.
Key agenda items include measures to prevent black marketing, monitor fuel and gas supplies, and tackle potential disruptions in petroleum and energy distribution. The meeting aims to prepare a coordinated roadmap to maintain stability and mitigate shortages.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged states to operate collectively in a “Team India” spirit to minimise the impact of international conflicts. CM Majhi had earlier apprised the Prime Minister of Odisha’s preparedness during a recent discussion. The state government is taking proactive steps to safeguard the supply of essential commodities and curb price hikes and unlawful trading.
