Amicus Curiae lays emphasis on repair of Puri Jagannath temple

Puri, Sept 17: Amicus Curiae of the Orissa High Court Nagendra Mohanty on Saturday visited the Puri Jagannath temple. He discussed with the Shri Jagannath Temple Administration(SJTA) officials regarding various development programs for the temple. Sources said, with the direction of the Orissa High Court, Amicus Curiae, appointed for the Shri Jagannath Temple, N Mohanty reached the temple premises in the morning. In a meeting convened at the SJTA office, Mohanty discussed with the Temple development Administrator and the Archaeological Survey of India(ASI) authorities on repair works of the Natya Mandap, the sanctum sanctorum, Jagamohan, and the Bhoga Mandap of the temple. Besides, a blueprint for the repair work was prepared during the meeting to complete it at the earliest. Subsequently, Mohanty came round the temple premises to take stock of other matters. However, no discussion regarding the renovation of the Ratna Bhandar(the treasury) of the 12th-century shrine took place in the meeting. Responding to the media queries Amicus Curiae Mohanty said that he will submit a detailed report in this connection to the Orissa High Court within the next week.
